Successful business organizations must have personnel who understand the appropriate role of information technology and who can identify methods of using this technology to meet their needs effectively.  These persons may be working in a wide variety of professions.  They may be accounts, engineers, doctors, librarians, etc. As information technology continues to change and expand, people in all professions and at all levels of organizations will continue to need a greater understanding of concepts related to the use of information technology.Information Technology is a contemporary term that describes the combination of computer technology (Hardware and Software) with Telecommunications technology (Data, image and voice networks). Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) programme equips students with knowledge and skills in information processing, multimedia computing, computer hardware and software concepts in Business applications and, networks and Internet applications.

Admission Requirements

This course is designed for students who meet the following minimum requirements:

  • At least one principle pass in the Uganda Advanced School Certificate (UACE) and two subsidiaries or its equivalent and a credit in ordinary level mathematics or its equivalent.
  • Holders of certificates in computer-related e.g., CCA and CCNA or other fields relevant to the course.
  • Holders of CCNA Certificates and CCNP.
