Programme Overview
The Master of Science in Human Anatomy has been developed to provide advanced training in Human Anatomy and is intended for students graduating from life sciences and related disciplines who wish to extend their knowledge of Anatomy and /or who wish to pursue a career in the Anatomical sciences. The program is both theoretical and practical entailing a good amount of research. During this period the candidate will undertake courses of which are basic and are core. The basic courses shall be offered during the first and second semesters while the core courses are offered mainly from the second to third semesters.

By the end of the programme, students are expected to demonstrate the knowledge, practical skills and professional conduct required for effective work in Science in Anatomy.
Course Structure and Learning Experience
The learning experience is organised to move students from foundational knowledge into applied, supervised and professionally oriented practice.
Foundation sciences
Students begin with the scientific and professional foundations required for health training.
Pre-practice preparation
Learning moves into practical, laboratory or simulated tasks that prepare students for supervised practice.
Applied practice
Students engage with discipline-specific practical work, field exposure or clinical learning where applicable.
Community orientation
The programme connects professional practice with prevention, service and community realities.
Research and professional readiness
Students consolidate learning through research, professional conduct and career preparation.
Admission Requirements
For entry to this programme, students are required to have
- A minimum of a second class undergraduate honours degree in Anatomy or Medicine, or a Postgraduate Diploma in Anatomy from any Ugandan or recognized university from other countries.
- Holders of a minimum of a second class undergraduate honours degree in relevant subject areas such as Anatomy, Veterinary medicine, Pharmacology, Sports Science, Applied Biology, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, nursing sciences, Physiotherapy, Zoology may be considered with the provision that some courses at the Postgraduate Diploma level will be audited as a prerequisite to enrolling for the M.Sc. programme.
- For overseas students, there is a requirement to demonstrate evidence of proficiency in written and spoken English. International qualifications will be checked for appropriate matriculation to Uganda Higher Education postgraduate programmes.

Tuition, functional fees and any programme-specific charges are confirmed by KIU Admissions and Finance for each intake. Applicants should review the current fee schedule before submitting an application.
