Admission Requirements

Admission to the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MScME) program shall be done in accordance with Kampala International University procedures and regulations in line with the minimum requirements by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).In addition, a person qualifies for admission provided he/she satisfies minimum requirements of:

  • A postgraduate diploma in a closely related field from a recognized University/Institution; OR
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline from a recognized university with at least two years working experience in a relevant field. Students with first class bachelors do not require any working experience. The relevant disciplines are: mechanical engineering, production engineering, agricultural engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, telecom engineering, civil engineering, motor vehicle engineering, and petroleum engineering. For other disciplines, the Graduate Studies and Research Committee will decide whether mechanical engineering forms an integral part so as to determine whether candidates from such disciplines qualify to be admitted to the MScME Programme.
