Professor Olumekun Victor Olugbenga is visiting Professor at Kampala International University, Kampala, Uganda.
He deals in fields of Curriculum Development, Postgraduate Supervision and general teaching. He has a Ph.D. in Biology (Plant Physiology) awarded by University of Essex, Colchester, U.K. in 1993, a MSc. Ecology & Environmental Management from Liverpool Hope University, Liverpool, UK in 2006 and a MSc Agric Biology (Crop Physiology) from University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria in 1984.
Professor Olumekun got his first degree in BSc (Botany) by University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. in 1981.
Victor also served as an Assistant Lecturer (1987-1989), Lecturer II (1989-1995), Lecturer I (1995-1998), Senior Lecturer (1998-2003), Associate Professor (2003-2011) and currently a Professor since 2011 at Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti, and Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Nigeria.
He was also an Adjunct Professor at Osun State University, Osogbo (2009-2010) and at Kings University, Odeomu (2016-2018) where he established the KU Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and co-authored the KU Entrepreneurship curriculum. He taught courses in Entrepreneurship Development and helped to coordinate the Centre pending the appointment of a substantive Director.
Away from academics, Professor Olumekun is an accomplished sportsman who represented Western State, Oyo State in Badminton at the National Sports Festival of 1975 and 1977. He represented the then Bendel, Ondo and Kano States in several national competitions from 1977 till 2001. Apart from this, he is a good Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Squash Racquets and Scrabble player and a good Swimmer.
He also enjoys knowledge acquisition in a variety of disciplines and is a Public Affairs Analyst. Victor as well served as a weekly Columnist for the Hope Newspapers, Akure, from 2010 to 2016.
