Dr. Musa Ibrahim Waziri is a senior lecturer in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Kampala International University (KIU) Western Campus, Uganda.
Before joining KIU in 2017, Dr. Waziri worked in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.
He holds a PhD. Veterinary Medicine Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 2016, M.Sc. Veterinary Medicine Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 2009, DVM. Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 1992, and, a Certificate. West African Examination Council, Federal Government. College Jos, 1985.
He has more than 25 years of experience in the field of Veterinary Science.
His first duty was in 1993 where he worked as a Dairy Farm Manager, Niger Livestock Company, Minna; National Youth Service Corps. In 1995, he worked as a Veterinary Officer at the Bauchi State Government in Nigeria. Between 2001- 2006, Dr. Waziri worked as a Principal Vet. Officer and Facilitator Livestock in the National Special Programme for Food Security in Gombe State- Nigeria.
His first duty as a lecturer was in 2006 when got a job as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine, A.B.U. Zaria, and in 2017, he became a senior lecturer in the same department.
He is also a trainer of Participatory Epidemiology/Disease surveillance (PENAPH- Participatory Epidemiology Network for Animal and Public Health) from 2009 to date.
Dr. Waziri has also participated in a number of international conferences and the notable ones are International Trainer Workshop/Seminar on Participatory Epidemiology, Nairobi, Kenya, December 9-12, 2009, and, Participatory Epidemiology Network for Animal and Public Health Technical Workshop/Seminar, Chiang Mai, Thailand. December 11-13, 2012.
Over time, Dr. Waziri has published more than 20 books and journals in Veterinary science and Agricultural science.
He was born on 6th April 1966, Kaltungo in Gombe State- Nigeria. He is married and his hobbies are reading traveling and visiting.
