Collins Kakwezi is the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala International University Western Campus. Before that, he worked as a volunteer report writer, editor and transcriber at the Center for Policy Analysis (CEPA) in Kololo, Kampala in January 2020. Kakwezi also worked as a social worker at the Kkottongnae Brothers’ House of Love in Kiruhura from January 2019 to December 2019. He also worked as a freelance reporter for The Observer Newspaper from 2013 to 2017. Before that, he was a Community Based Facilitator for Kaliiro A Parish in the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) from August 2011 to July 2012. Kakwezi has also done journalism work for some publications like The Critic film website and the Amakula International Film Festival website.
In his journalism work, he has covered refugee camps in Northern Uganda and West Nile, done investigative stories, Entertainment – mainly film and the National Basketball, Volleyball and Rugby Leagues, National Motorsport competitions and Kickboxing in Sport. Collins Kakwezi went to Makerere University to pursue a Bachelor in Development Economics from 2008 to 2011.
He is hardworking, honest, dedicated, loyal, punctual and has an outstanding work ethic. He also possesses excellent writing skills, is very creative, has excellent communication skills and is a good team player. He is very informed, intelligent, a good listener and an apt problem solver.
He is conversant with computer applications like Microsoft Office, Adobe Premiere Pro and internet tools like YouTube and social media as well as installation of computer software.
