SPECIOZA MUKALURANGWA is a Lecturer/Facilitator in the Department of Applied Psychology in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Kampala International University (KIU). Prior to that, she was a teacher at Kabojja Junior School (2012-2017), and a Counsellor at Victory Rehabilitation Centre, Kirinya (2009-2012).
Specioza holds a Masters (Hons) Degree in Counselling Psychology, a B.ED (Hons) Degree with Guidance and Counselling, as well as a Diploma and Certificate in Primary Education respectively. She is a God-fearing, highly self motivated and caring counsellor, specializing in adolescent counselling, with extensive knowledge and experience in counselling. She has two years’ experience as a Lecturer and seven years’ experience as a Counsellor. She also has experience in Guidance and Counselling including HIV/AIDS and Substance and Drug Abuse, and is an experienced teacher.
She has attended trainings on Continuous Professional Development Courses (C.P.D.C) – (For Curriculum Interpretation) in Mathematics and English, HIV/AIDS Counselling workshops, Schools Administrators’ Workshops, Thematic Curriculem Workshops, Teaching Reading Skills in Lower Primary, Drugs and Substance Use among the Youth Worshop and an Internship on HIV/AIDS Counselling at Kira Health Centre II.
Specioza possesses good communication skills, is team-work-oriented, possesses good listening skills and is proficient in English, Rufumbira, Runyarwanda, Luganda, Runyoro, and Lumasaba languages. She enjoys netball, counselling, and all forms of athletics in her free time.
