BELO KABIR

PROFESSOR

He is a Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology BUK since
2018. Former HOD Sociology Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State. He has
20 years of field research experience that cut across various aspects of societal
problems such as poverty, health, human rights, drug abuse, women rights,
democracy, child rights, security, etc and participated in 28 field researches

and submitted 4 technical reports. Some of the organizations that he worked
with include: Family Health International (FHI), Partnership for
Transformation of Health System (PATHS2), DFID, British Council,
Netherland Leprosy Relief, WHO/Melinda Gates Foundation, World Bank,
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Overseas Development
Group (ODG) University of East Anglia, and Norwich etc. He was
consultant/coordinator for five international researches, two on qualitative and
quantitative intra-household allocation of resources (Funded by ODG
University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK).The second category were those on
Health Seeking Behaviour on Community Dermatology Approach to the
Control of Leprosy in Nigeria (HSB Part I and II), funded by Netherlands
Leprosy Relief . He was a Program Officer of Mac Arthur 3-year funded
project for Mambayya House on Combating Corruption through Interfaith
Platforms (2018-2020). Life time member of Sociology International Honor
Society (Alpha Kappa Delta, American Sociological Association ASA,
National Association of Criminology and Security Practitioners of Nigeria,
Nigerian Sociological and Anthropological Practitioners Association. He has
published over 20 articles and book chapters both locally and internationally.
