Dr. Tajuddeen Sa’ad was born and bred up in Kano, Nigeria. He is a specialist in the areas of Counselling Psychology, Special Needs Education as well as International Relations and Diplomacy. He obtained his Teachers’ Grade II Certificate from Kano Teachers’ College, Kano, Nigeria; National Certificate in Education (NCE) from Federal College of Education, Yola, Nigeria. He graduated from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria where he earned his B.Ed (Hons) and Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy (MIAD). He also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy from Kaduna Polytechnic.
Dr. Sa’ad proceeded to the University of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, for his M.Ed (Counselling Psychology). He bagged his Ph.D (Counselling Psychology) from the University of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.
He worked as Guidance Counsellor at Federal Government College, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria before he joined the services of Kaduna Polytechnic in the Department of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, where he rose to the peak of his career as Chief Lecturer, Head of Department, Chairman Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic Conference Organizing Committee, Member, Kaduna Polytechnic Governing Council etc and retired in 2024. Dr. Sa’ad was the former Acting Dean, School of Education, University of The Gambia, where he is currently a visiting scholar. He joined the services of International Open University (IOU) in 2021 as an Associate Professor (Part-Time), Department of Psychology. Dr. Sa’ad is now currently with the Kampala International University, Uganda as an Assoc. Professor, Counselling Psychology.
He is an ardent conference attendee both locally and internationally. He belongs to so many Professional Associations where he held Executive positions. He is a member of Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON); Association for Professional Counsellors in Nigeria (APROCON); Nigerian Association for Special Education Teachers (NASET); National Association for Exceptional Children (NAEC) where he was the former National Secretary General.
Dr Sa’ad has published to his credit more than forty (40) articles in learned Journals, more than twenty (20) chapter contributions in both local and international text books. He is the Author of a book titled: Self-Concept and Visually Impaired Persons: Therapeutic Intervention (2019) Published by ABU, Press.
He was a facilitator and resource person to National Teachers’ Institute, Kaduna, Nigeria and National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Kaduna Study Center. His areas of research and teaching interest include, Special Needs Education, Counselling Psychotherapy and International Relations and Diplomacy. He is happily married with children.
