Ms. Safina Tuhaise a PhD candidate at Makerere University and currently working as an Assistant Lecturer in the College of Education and Open Distance Learning at Kampala International University (KIU)- since 2017.
She holds a Masters in Translation & Language Development from Uganda Christian University, BA Education- English/Literature (Double main) from Mountains of the Moon University and a Certificate in Radio Management from Mountains of the Moon University/Thomas More University College.
Between 2013- 2017, Ms. Safina worked as an Assistant Lecturer in the School of Education at Mountains of the Moon University- Fort portal and she previously served as an Open Distance Learning Officer in the same institution.
She has conducted different researches in Learning to read in two languages from home to ECD to Primary 4: Excellence & Inequities in Western Uganda. Reading to Learn in Sub-Saharan African multilingual contexts. Early Literacy project carried in the district of Kabarole - Training Teachers to Plan and Deliver the ‘Literacy Hour’ in the Thematic Curriculum. And, Strengthening of primary school Management systems in the Albertine region and Rwenzori region.
