Faith Nakalema is a Lecturer and Head of Department, Applied Psychology in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kampala International University.
Faith is currently a PhD candidate in Counselling Psychology from Kampala International University. She received her Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Counselling Psychology in 2012 and 2010 respectively from Kampala International University. She is a Certified Professional Counselor of the Uganda Counseling Association with key research interests in adolescence, youth and adult counselling in the area of mental health, parenting, trauma, stress, abuse, addiction, depression, HIV/AIDS-related stigma and child-parent conflicts.
As the Head of Department, Applied Psychology, she has spear headed curricula review, established a fully fledged counseling clinic. she also chairs all postgraduate research hearings in her department and has successfully graduated over 15 postgraduate students in the first year as HoD. She has personally supervised over 50 undergraduate and postgraduate internship in the course of her career here at KIU.
As a counseling Psychologist, she offers consultations and implement individualized Psychological treatment by providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment of more severe psychological symptoms.
She is fully prepared to shape the community, the minds of current and future students as the Institution continues to explore the heights in Africa and beyond.
