VIOLA NANKYA is a Lecturer and Surgical Specialist at Kampala International University-Teaching Hospital (KIU-TH), with 8 years of experience mainly in Medical Research and Knowledge management.
She has supervised various projects including projects on Factors Hindering EMTCT Service Uptake Among HIV Positive Women at Comboni Hospital and Factors Contributing to Low Retention of Mother Baby Pairs Among HIV positive Mothers at Rugazi Health center IV, both in Western Uganda.
She holds a Masters’ Degree in Nursing and a Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing from Garden City College of Nursing/ Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Nurses (India).
She is a Medical-Surgical Nursing specialist with a strong inclination towards providing patient care of all ages and backgrounds, and an individual well versed with medication administration, wound care, and minor surgical assistance in Primary Health Care, Emergency Public Health emphasized by her qualifications as a Medical Nurse. She has extensive experience in child health nursing and also took part in an All-India Pulse Polio Vaccination; a Nation-Wide Program for Child Health and Care in 2009. She is well conversant with health guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Through her experience, she has nurtured and tested her strategic /leadership skills in a variety of organizations and contexts including Kampala International University. She is a person of reputed character, integrity, resourcefulness, and has good interpersonal and communication skills.
