Kintu Mugagga is a lecturer and administrator, Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Kampala International University (KIU).
For more than 20 years, he has actively engaged in academic and administrative work at Kampala International University and Makerere University. In 1992, he graduated with his first Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine at Makerere University in Uganda. In 1998 he graduated with a Master’s of Science at Makerere University in Anatomy and thereafter continued with university teaching as well as working with a number private research and educational organizations in Uganda.
In 2008, he joined KIU as a Lecturer in the department of Anatomy, school of Health sciences. His primary role has been training health professional students under Biomedical sciences. He has, during the past 11 years, taught and assessed Bachelors and post-graduate students in the 3 sub-disciplines of Anatomy [Gross Anatomy, Embryology and Microscopic Anatomy/Histology] and Agro-Veterinary Pharmacy Practices.
Mr. Kintu has served in a number of positions at KIU-Western Campus. He first served as as the Director of Academic Affairs(2008-2009), Head of the Department of Human- Anatomy of the Faculty of biomedical Sciences(2009-2010), the Head of Monitoring and Evaluation Committee for MEPI /MESAU program(2011-2016), an an associated Dean faculty Biomedical Sciences(2014-2016), as well as Deputy Director Academic Affairs for teaching and learning as well as the Focal person for Graduating and Tracking for MEPI/MESAU in Uganda in 2011-2016.
He worked with Makerere University as Teaching Assistant (1992-1997) and as an assistant Lecturer (1998-2001) at the Faculty of veterinary medicine.
He also worked as a Field researcher and Organic farming expert with UgoCert and National Agricultural Advisory Services programs in Uganda, and a National coordinator of National Effort to Spread Career and Academic Awareness [NESCAA] and he is a Member of Forum for Educational Network in Uganda [FENU}.
He is currently pursuing a PhD of Science and Technology from Mbarara University.
He holds a Masters of Veterinary (Anatomy /Histology) Medicine in 1998 and a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine [BVM} in 1992 both awarded by Makerere University.
His career vision is to become a celebrated scientist with mastery in research, innovations, publications and training so as to meet the growing global demand for desired appropriate and applicable knowledge and skills in fixing human health and developmental challenges.
