Tumushabe Anne is a lecturer and a former Head of Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences where her roles included; Day to day running of department activities ,initiating and chairing departmental meetings, participating in formulation and review of the course curriculum, handling lecturers’ complaints ,handling lectures timetabling, exam question moderation and supervision, being actively involved in decision making of course units to be offered per semester, supervision of undergraduate research in the field of environmental management and initiating and conducting field training of students to get hands-on experience on environmental concerns.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Management and Natural Resources from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. She has also been a Lecturer in the University for about fourteen years, her areas of specialization include; Principles of Natural Resource Management, Energy resources conservation, Agriculture and Environment, Sanitation & Health, Wetlands & Water Resources Management, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environment & Health, and Urbanization & Environment amp; and Research Methods among others.
Besides, she has published in several local and international journals among which are; the International Journal of Advanced Research, Journal of Medicinal Plants Studies, Journal of Medicinal Plants Studies and American Journal of Environmental Policy and Management to mention but a few. Anne has also been involved in various funded research projects by organizations like; Green watch Uganda and Global Environment Facility (GEF) among others.
She has supervised the Theses and Dissertations of numerous students and has also worked in a consulting capacity on various projects and with numerous organizations.
Anne is a master in her field and with her strong foundation and experience, she is in the right position to train and guide the future generations here at Kampala International University where we continue to explore the heights!
