Asekenye Caroline is an Invigilator in the School of Pharmacy at Kampala International University (KIU) -Western Campus. She is a highly self-motivated person with a high sense of responsibility, who takes initiative, pays attention to detail, hardworking, with high integrity. She is able to work independently or with a team, able to meet set deadlines with both oral and written communication skills. She is currently enrolled for a Ph.D. in Pharmacognosy at Mbarara University of Science and Technology-Uganda. She holds both a Bachelors’ Degree In Valorization of Medicinal Plants (Under Biological Sciences), and a Masters’ Degree in Phytotherapy and Health, both from University of Blida 1 in Algeria.
Asekenye contributes by developing a marking scheme for the courses taught, carrying out progressive assessments, and marking examination scripts of the courses taught. She also sets, invigilates, and processes University examinations. She has also worked as an Enrolment Officer at the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) in Ngora District, as well as a Trainer at Natural Chemotherapeutic Research Institute, Wandegeya, Kampala. Asekenye has been a Teaching Assistant at the University of Blida 1, Algeria, where she conducted a training at the laboratory of Hygiene in Blida province, and at the Research and Development Center of Saidal, Algiers, Algeria. During her leisure time, she likes reading Health and Medical Literature to keep her updated on the evolution of Phytotherapy as an alternative intervention and treatment. She also loves travelling to relate with different people with different traditional practices of treatment with especially medicinal plants, and writing to express, share views and opinions on Phytotherapy.
