RICHARD
NUWAMANYA BUTAMANYA is a Lecturer at Kampala International University (KIU). He
lectures at both Masters and Bachelors levels. Prior to that, he was a Lecturer
at Makerere University from 2002 to 2006, and the Director Human Resource at
Kampala International University from 2007 to 2010.
Richard holds aMasters Degree in Social Sciences from
Birmingham University, UK, and a Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences) from
Makerere University, Kampala. He has also received various trainings on Network
Development in Action from Viva, Oxford UK, training on Staff Development Program from IFES, Madras
India, and a Staff Training Programme for Africa and Middle East Habitat for
Humanity in Gaberone, Botswana to mention but a few.
He has gained an enormous
work experience from the various positions he has held including Field
Administrative Officer of the Kabale and Masindi Districts from 1980 to 1985,
Assistant Secretary of the Commission of Inquiry into Violation of Human Rights
from 1986 to 1990, Associate General Secretary and General Secretary at FOCUS
Uganda in 1992 and from 1993 to 1997 respectively, Director Field Operations at
Habitat for Humanity from 1997 to 2002, and Lead Consultant at LOD Consult from
2002 to 2006.
Richard has written books on
Public Policy Basics and Practice (2013), and Non-governmental Quest for
Development (2013).
