NAMBI HELLEN is an Assistant Lecturer in the pharmaceutics department at the School of pharmacy, Kampala International University – Western Campus (KIU-WC). She is also a Supervising pharmacist at Guardian Health Pharmacy. Prior to that, she worked with various entities including Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, Joint Medical Stores Nsambya, and the National Drug Authority to mention but a few.
Hellen holds a Masters in Pharmaceutical Analysis and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Karnataka-India.
She possesses a number of skills including knowledge of analysis of drugs and presentation of analytical data, analysis of drugs using the HPLC instrument, validation of methods of analysis of drugs, knowledge of good laboratory practises, analysis of compounds using UV – visible spectrophotometer, handling of disintegration apparatus, dissolution apparatus, and hardness tester, performing bioassay tests on laboratory animals, interpretation of analytical data, prequalification of suppliers by evaluation of the product dossiers, the ability to review prescriptions to ensure safety, efficacy and suitability of prescribed dosage regimens, and the ability to maintain appropriate handling, storage and timely dispensing of all medicines.
Hellen seeks to ensure that good pharmaceutical knowledge and skill is imparted to the students of Kampala International University.
