JOHNSON WELISHE is a Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Kampala International University (KIU), Western Campus where he facilitates tutorial processes, supervises students’ research reports, sets and marks university students among other things. He is also a Research Assistant in the Department of Immunology and Molecular Biology at Makerere University College of Health Sciences.

Welishe successfully completed his Master of Science in Immunology and Clinical Microbiology, and a Bachelors of Biomedical Laboratory Technology from Makerere University in 2016 and 2012 respectively. He also holds a Diploma in Medicine (Orthopaedics) obtained from Mulago Paramedical Schools in 2008. Welishe undertook at training on the Host-Pathogen Interactions in TB and TB-HIV short course by Tuberculosis Research Unit, Case Western Reserve University, Boston Medical, Makerere University, and a Scientific Grant Writing Workshop by Alliance for Global Health and Science, University of California, Berkeley.

He published and co-published articles and studies carried out on the Evaluation of on-shelf multipurpose detergents for use in a modified ZN procedure to diagnose Mycobacterium Tuberculosis, and -diagnostic potential of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Thymidylate Kinase in designating Active and Latent TB in patients co-infected with HIV.
