Dr. Mercy Nwankwo Chineye an industrious, focused and motivated health professional with more than 20 years of progressive experience in both health care and academic setting. She has vast experience in clinical nursing, midwifery and public health practices, field work, teaching, supervision and research. Able to deliver mission, build and retain high performance team, delivery is with passion and sometimes outcomes exceeding desired expectations even in a cross cultural and multi-dynamic environment.
She has a PhD in Public Health from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kigali Campus in 2018, a Masters in Epidemiology from School of Public Health National University of Rwanda in 2013, Masters in Health Education from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria in 2002, as well as a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (Public health) awarded by University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus Enugu State Nigeria in 1998.
She is a registered Midwife by the School of midwifery UNTH Enugu, Nigeria, a registered Mental Health Nurse by School of Mental Health Nursing, New Haven Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria and a Registered Nurse by School of Nursing Iyi-Enu Ogidi Anambra State Nigeria.
Mercy has worked as a consultant Researcher with the Institute of Policy Analysis and Research (IPAR) Kigali in 2008. While at Jomo Kenyatta University Kigali Campus, she served as a Full- Time staff, Head of department of health Sciences (2016-2017), Assistant Lecturer Full- Time (2015-2017), Research and IT coordinator (2015-2016) and a Part – time Lecture (2014-2015).
She has also worked as a part time teacher and lecturer at Mountain Kenyan University Campus. Rwanda in 2013, Byumba Polytechnic in 2010, and at Federal Ministry of health, Nigeria, (NAUTH) Nursing department between 2002-2004. While at Anambra State, Nigeria (School of Midwifery Nkpor) Nigeria, she served as Midwife Tutor Clinical, field / research project supervisor and as a Graduate Assistant Clinical Instructor at F.G. of Nigeria. (NAU Nursing Science Dept. Nnewi campus, Anambra State, Nigeria.
Mercy as well worked as a Monitoring & Evaluation officer, field Supervisor and Core-trainer with Local contract Field work with NGOs (WHO, UNICEF, UNFEPA, WORLD BANK) between 2005-2007. She served as a Nursing and Midwifery clinical at General Hospital Onitsha Anambra State. Nigeria in 1989-2004 and carried out Community Practices with varying Status at Comprehensive health Centre Achina, Anambra State Nigeria in 1992-1998. In 1989 to 1990.
