Irene Jesica Iroot is an accomplished and resourced Linguist. She currently serves as an assistant lecturer and The Administrative assistant to the Senate at Kampala International University where her duties involve teaching undergraduate, designing course outlines, supervising research projects and conducting resource studies in her area of expertise, and recording all Senate and Committee minutes and keeping records of the same, and other duties as assigned from time to time.
Irene Jesica Iroot holds Master of Arts in Linguistic and a Bachelor of Arts with Education, English & Literature in English both of Kampala International University and in addition, currently doing a Certificate in Supported Technology Enhanced Learning, Courtesy of SEDA, an Association of Common Wealth Universities.
Her teaching and areas of specialization include Communication Skills, English Language Skills, Advanced English Grammar, English Phonology, English Morphology, English Semantics and Pragmatics, Introduction to phonology and Phonetics, Introduction to the Study of English, Literary Aesthetic and Drama. She also received award of excellence of Kampala International University in 2016.
Irene Jesica Iroot has researched on The Morphology of Ateso; the language from Eastern Uganda, under review, and currently conducting a study in the Phonetic Classification of the Nouns and Verbs in English, Inflectional elements of the Number and Tense
As a result of her curiosity and passion for new challenges, she was selected as a university representative and beneficiary of PEBL project where she is a core author of an Online Communication Skills module for undergraduate students. She has an amiable character which draws inspiration for both to her peers and learners
