KIU, Western Campus - Defending Western region rugby champions, KIU Crows delivered a commanding performance to defeat Kigezi Silverbacks 48–6 in the Men’s Regional XVs Championships match played on Saturday, March 7, 2026 in Bushenyi.
Saturday’s victory was the second in a row for the Crows in just one week following a 31-09 triumph over Tooro Lions on February 28.

KIU ran in six tries during the contest, with Clement Ogwal and Jonathan Cyirabo each scoring two tries to contribute 10 points apiece. Mark Ssengooba also crossed the try line once to add five points for the visitors.
Fullback Joshua Aijuka played a decisive role with the boot, converting six tries and adding two penalties to finish with a game-high 23 points.
Led by captain Clement Ogwal, the Crows controlled possession and territory for large spells of the match, keeping the Silverbacks pinned in their own half while capitalizing on scoring opportunities.
The KIU lineup featured Aaron Zziwa, Levis Akampa, Humphrey Gimui Zanga, Alvin Nizeyimana, Ivan Munguleni, Benjamin Ssemalwade, Marvin Mabike, Mark Ssengooba, Maxwell Wepukhulu, Marvin Agaba, Ronnie Okol, Jonathan Cyirabo, captain Clement Ogwal, Daniel Mayanja and vice-captain Joshua Aijuka.
