KIU, Main Campus - Kampala International University (KIU) is proud to announce its official induction into the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) initiative, a global network that aligns institutions of higher education, scholarship and research with the United Nations and with each other.

On Thursday, August 28th, 2025, the United Nations Academic Impact formally welcomed KIU as a member, recognizing the university’s steadfast commitment to promoting inclusive education, fostering intercultural dialogue, and advancing the values enshrined in the UN Charter.

This landmark reflects KIU’s ongoing dedication to academic excellence, community engagement, and global collaboration.

As a member of UNAI, KIU joins a distinguished group of institutions working to address global challenges through research, innovation, and education.

UNAI aims to support the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals focusing on the reciprocal relationship between education and sustainable development.

A New Chapter of Global Collaboration

The induction into UNAI marks a pivotal moment for KIU, opening up a new chapter of global collaboration and impactful engagement. Students and faculty now have the opportunity to participate in UNAI-led initiatives, conferences, and research projects that directly contribute to solving some of the world's most pressing issues.

This membership isn't just an accolade; it's a call to action. It empowers KIU to leverage its academic strengths and community presence to create tangible change, both locally in Uganda and on the global stage.

KIU’s partnership with UNAI will specifically amplify the university's efforts to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By integrating the SDGs into its curriculum and research agenda, KIU can better equip its students with the knowledge and skills needed to become global citizens who are prepared to tackle complex challenges like climate change, poverty, and inequality.
