KIU, Western Campus - On 21st September, The Leo's club KIU Western Campus, together with Lions Club of Bushenyi engaged in a cleaning exercise of Basajja Market in Ishaka-Bushenyi Municipality.

The Leo’s Club of KIU Western Campus is a club under Lions Club International, a group of international charitable clubs which are formed in institutions and towns.

The exercise was part of three activities which also included donating one dust bin and sensitizing the market vendors about environmental preservation.

They then proceeded with a diabetic walk up to St. Kaggwa Catholic Church where they planted two trees for environment preservation and also donated a dustbin.

According to Leo’s Club President Amon Nkwasiibwe, these activities were in line with the Club’s virtues, which include environmental conservation, community inclusiveness through sensitization and advocacy for socially sensitive issues.

“As the Leo’s club of KIU Western Campus, one of the things we have always advocated for and emphasized is serving the community without any limitations or expectations,” Nkwasiibwe, who doubles as the president of the Association of Medical Students of KIU (AMSKIU) said.

He added that the Lions Club of Bushenyi and Leo's Club KIU WC plan to have environmental tour to Rwanda which is scheduled to take place in November.
