Objectives the Programme

By the end of this course, the student will be able to:
 
 
  • Comprehend the normal disposition, inter-relationships, gross, functional and applied anatomy of the various structures of limbs including cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Identify all the major structures associated with the limbs i.e. muscle, arterial and nerve supply
  • Understand the anatomical basis of some common clinical procedures i.e., intramuscular and intravenous injection
  • Give detail description of the bone composition, attachment of the muscles (origin and insertion), course and relations of the arterial supply, nerve innervations and lymphatic drainage.
  • Name and explain the clinical features of the various parts and the anatomical/ clinical significance of the parts 
  • From the integrated teaching of other basic sciences, the student should be able to comprehend the regulation and integration of the functions of the organs and systems in the body and thus interpret the anatomical basis of a disease process.
