190 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths have been registered in Uganda from the 2,301 samples tested on September 9, according to the Ministry of Health daily COVID-19 update.
According to the ministry, both deaths were registered in Kampala thereby bringing the cumulative number of deaths in the country from COVID-19 to 48.
Of the 190 cases, 187 are alerts and contacts to previously confirmed cases, with 95 of these being registered in Kampala, as the capital city continues to be Ugandac��?cs epicentre of the Coronavirus.
40 cases are from Kitgum, 13 from Zombo, 12 from Moroto, 7 from Lira, 4 from Mbarara, 2 cases each from Gulu, Arua, Luweero and Wakiso while Adjumani, Kabale, Kikuube, Kiryandongo, Mayuge, Mbale, Mukono and Terego districts registered one case each.
The other 3 cases are of truck drivers who came through Bunagana, Elegu and Malaba border points of entry.
This means that Uganda now has 4,291 cumulative cases of COVID-19 with 1,998 recoveries.
