KIU Partners with Mountain Top University for Research and Exchange

KIU, Main Campus - On 28th February 2020, Attah Alexander, the Head, Office of Internationalization and Development from Mountain Top University, Nigeria, met with Prof. Diji Chukwuemeka, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, Innovations, Consultancy & Extensions (DVC-RICE). The goal of the meeting was to discuss a way forward in regards to forging the first collaboration of its kind between the two institutions.

This collaboration, in terms of the exchange of teaching staff, research supervisors, and international students, will prove beneficial to both parties. The said partnership will also look into possibilities of co-organisation of future international conferences.

Both sides have drafted a Memorandum of Understanding, stating the expectations and strategies meant for the implementation of the partnership project.

Alexander commended KIU for upholding ideals like entrepreneurship in the area of humanities and social sciences. He appreciated KIU's values of integrity, dedication to duty, commitment, and leadership.

“There are countless universities all around, but we must engage with a university that upholds the same ideals as our own,” he said, “KIU shares the same ideals with Mountain Top University.”

He also added that KIU has particularly done its best to stand out in terms of excellence, reputation, and the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities which saw the university emerge as the leading private university in Uganda.

Prof. Chukwuemeka also lauded Mountain Top University for upholding their own ideals, and also expressed eagerness on behalf of KIU for the promising collaboration.

“We are engaging in this collaboration because Mountain Top University has a lot of integrity which matters a lot to us here at KIU,” he said.
