KIU Titans will start the 2024 NBL campaign against arch rivals Namuwongo Blazers a game seen as the classic of the opening day.
Kasujja takes over the role from Joseph Chuma who left the club at the beginning of the year.
"It feels good to be given this opportunity again to lead the team in the captain capacity," Kasujja said.
"To our fans, we will do our best and compete this season with a goal of doing better than last season," he added.
KIU Titans Coach, Julius Lutwama said, "Kasujja has been a captain for the team before, so he's been tested and proved."
"He brings all the energy a team would want from a leader," Lutwama added.
Kasujja, KIU Titans' current longest-serving player will be assisted by Brian Opio who replaces Stanley Mugerwa who served alongside Chuma last season.
"I am happy and ready to take on the role of assistant captain as it comes with much more responsibility," Opio said in an interview on Sunday.
KIU Basketball President, Nasser Sserunjogi said, "The two (Kasujja and Opio) are very outspoken and have good leadership skills. They’re disciplined as well. They can bring everyone together."
"Collins is also the longest serving player on the team currently," he added.
KIU Titans finished second, last season after losing to City Oilers in game six of the Finals series and both Kasujja and Opio played an instrumental role.
However, it is their discipline, work ethic, passion and dedication to the team that makes them exceptional in the current KIU Titans squad.
