KIU, Main Campus- Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the new guild cabinet held at KIU on Tuesday, May 11th, 2022, the vice Chancellor of Kampala International University, Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo has advised student leaders to always focus on solving problems because its what makes them leaders. 

Prof.Dr.Mouhamad Mpezamihigo reminded the new team that leadership requires commitment just like any other responsibility. He also took the opportunity to apologize on behalf of the University for everything that didn't go well with the outgoing Guild Union.

"On behalf of the University we do apologize to the outgoing Guild cabinet for whatever went wrong," he said. 

"I'm so humbled by the outgoing Guild cabinet for standing the challenges caused by COVID-19. You became our ambassadors amidst the hard times," he added.

Moses Ebye replaced Jacob Musiimenta at the helm of the Students Union while Ronald Karuhanga gave way to Marvin Nsereko in the prime minister's office.

The outgoing guild president Jacob Mussiimenta encouraged the new cabinet to work hard and explore the heights just as the KIU motto says.

"To the leaders, your prime objective is to study, don't be overtaken by politics because you can also get retakes," Jacob Musiimenta said

Mrs. Anite Malinga congratulated the outgoing guild cabinet and advised the new cabinet to always seek advice from their seniors.

"Leadership is not a bed of roses, it comes with challenges which you must be able to solve," Mrs. Anite Malinga stated

In attendance were the University legal advisor, Dean of Students Affairs  Mrs. Schola Akampemuka, Campus Administrator Mrs. Elizabeth Kyamanywa, students representatives among others.
