In the department of Journalism and Media Studies, we believe that:

• The media is in the backbone of any society and as such the freedom of the press should be guaranteed and protected.
• Journalist and media practitioners should carry out their activities and the profession with integrity and professionalism
• To achieve excellence, we must instill the spirit of collaboration and shared responsibility.
• Teaching and learning should be rigorous process that enshrines in the student a belief that hard work indeed leads to great results.
• Every student is unique and exceptional, it is our job as lecturers to identify, nurture and encourage the genius in each and every one of our students.
