KIU Hosts Public Lecture on Startup Ecosystem and Tech Collaboration

KIU Main Campus: On Monday, November 4th, 2024, the School of Mathematics and Computing (SOMAC) and the Directorate of Research, Innovation, Consultancy, and Extension (DRICE) hosted an exciting public lecture focused on "The Startup Ecosystem: Building a Network for Tech Entrepreneurs" and "The Power of Collaboration: Creating Tech Solutions Through Interdisciplinary Teams." The lecture was facilitated by Mr. Yang Cheng Nick and Daniel Kateregga from Huawei Uganda.

Mr. Yang Cheng Nick highlighted opportunities for ICT students, such as the Huawei ICT Competition, an annual global event that provides a platform to enhance ICT skills, innovate, and connect with peers worldwide. He also offered guidance on the application process.

Dr. Michael Adewusi, Dean of SOMAC, applauded Huawei Technology Uganda for consistently bridging the gap between students and the industry. He also expressed his gratitude to the students for their attendance, encouraging them to "find a niche, continue training, and apply for the Huawei competition.

He assured them that this experience would be transformative.
