KIU, Western Campus – The Association of Medical Students of KIU (AMSKIU) will participate in the National Medical Quiz at Makerere University, which kicks off tomorrow and concludes on February 25.
The quiz is organized by the Federation of Uganda Medical Students Associations (FUMSA) and medical students from universities all over Uganda will be tested across topics in medicine and outside medicine with the emergence of a winner at the end.
According to the president of AMSKIU, John Tendo Senkaaba, the team is going to do their very best and bring the trophy back to Ishaka.
“The medical quiz is a well-organized and competitive event that will test the capabilities of Medical students not only in the field of medicine but out of it too and we expect to bring the trophy home,” Senkaaba said.
“The team is ready and I thank all the students and the university administration for the support given to us. Please continue with the prayers and support till the very end,” he added.
Senkaaba says he expects all universities to offer tough competition but he is adamant that they are eyeing victory because they trust in God to bring them glory.
The quiz will examine various course units studied in medicine. Course units under Biomedical Sciences will score 2 marks for each correct answer.
In Clinical Sciences, each answer will be awarded 5 marks whereas questions in general knowledge and logic will each carry 3 marks.
KIU is represented by a team of 12 students including Morris Muchangi, Mellisa Takuwa, Henry Okello, Sepiriano Baisemubaka, and Steven Ssenyonyi. Others are Andrew Kayaabale, James Businge, Leonard Lugoloobi, Winny Atim, Rolland Willabo, Leo Okol and Joshua Bahebwa.
