KIU, Main Campus – From October 18th to 30th, 2021, the students of KIU and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology were trained on the concepts of ethics and integrity. This training was part of the virtual mobility program awarded by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) to Meenal Choubey of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology and Dr. Susan Akinkurolere of Kampala International University.

The project was facilitated by Meenal Choubey and Dr. Susan Akinkurolere, the Principal College of Education. Dr. Akinkurolere was supported by Dr. Specioza Asiimwe.

The students were drawn from the College of Education, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Natural and Applied Sciences. During the training, the learning outcomes focused on the following

• The concepts of integrity and ethics
• The relationship between ethics and respective societies
• The ideas of values, ethics, and morality in a multicultural context
• Ways in which people are marginalized based on gender, and the ways in which gender intersects with other structures of power in both countries
• Ethical decisions regarding media, as consumers, or as mere users of social media in both countries during COVID-19.

The students were given a training allowance, stipends for internet data, and a certificate of participation.
