COVID-19 Updates: 13 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Uganda

KIU, Main Campus - Yesterday night, Ministry of Health announced 13 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda, bringing the total to 139.

"Today, 13 May 2020, 13 new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,741 samples of truck drivers. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Uganda is now 139. The new cases are; 7 Ugandans, 5 Kenyans and 1 Eritrean. All 363 community samples tested negative for COVID-19." tweeted Dr Jane Ruth Acheng, the Minister of Health, last night. 

The minister is going to address the nation later on today. She announced this on her official twitter handle.

 "Dear all, I will update the public on the health sector’s response to COVID-19, this afternoon at 3 pm. Stay tuned," Dr Acheng said.

The KIU community is urged to stay alert by staying safely indoors and if it is necessary to go into public, put on a face mask and observe social distancing.
