COVID-19 Updates: 36 new Coronavirus Cases Confirmed in Uganda

KIU, Main Campus - Yesterday, May 28, Uganda registered the highest number of COVID-19 positive cases in a single day so far, registering 36 to raise the country’s total case count to 317. 

"Today, 28 May 2020, 36 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The total confirmed cases are now 317. 24 new cases are truck drivers while 12 of the new cases are contacts to previously confirmed truck drivers. The contacts were under quarantine at the time of test," tweeted Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, the Minister of Health. 

As is the case nowadays, 26 positive foreign truck drivers were handed over to their country of origin yesterday. 

The number of recoveries in Uganda still stands at 69, with no deaths.
