The Ministry of Health has this afternoon announced that 7 new positive cases were confirmed from the 1,885 samples of COVID-19 suspects that were tested on July 27.
A ministry statement says that of the 7 cases, 5 were truck drivers, 1 an alert from the community and another was one of the Ugandans who returned from Saudi Arabia but was under quarantine at the time the test sample was collected.
This brings the cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 to 1,135, with the number of cumulative recovered cases of Ugandans now standing at 989.
32 foreign truck drivers tested positive at the border testing points and they were not allowed to enter the country. The total number of test that have been one since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in Uganda are 264,162 and only 2 deaths have been registered.
