Another COVID-19 death - of a 27-year old man from Mengo in Kampala - has been announced by the Ministry of Health, alongside 98 new cases in their daily COVID-19 update, from tests done on August 25.
Of the 98 cases, 92 are alerts and contacts, with alerts contributing 63 to this figure. Kampala has 65 alerts and contacts to previously confirmed cases, 8 are from Moroto, 6 from Wakiso, 4 from Mbale, 3 from Gulu, 2 from Adjumani and one each from Arua, Kotido, Pader and Tororo.
The other cases are 3 truck drivers, 2 returnees from South Sudan and South Africa and a health worker from Adjumani.
This means that the cumulative cases of COVID-19 are now 2,524 with one recovery yesterday meaning that the country has now registered 1,268 recoveries in total since the pandemic began.
4,232 samples were tested yesterday, bringing the total number of tested samples to 359,289.
