COVID-19 Updates: Uganda Registers 18 More COVID-19 Cases

KIU, Main Campus – The Ministry of Health has this morning announced 18 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total confirmed cases to 755.

Of the 18, five are truck drivers; 2 from Busia, 1 from Mirama Hills, 1 from Bunagana and 1 from Lira districts. 

The remaining 9 are contacts and alerts of previously confirmed COVID-19 cases. Of these, 5 are contacts from Kampala, 3 from Kyotera and 1 from Nebbi districts. 

According to a press statement released by the ministry, all the contacts to previously confirmed cases were under quarantine by the time of testing.  

Additionally, 27 foreign truck drivers who tested positive for COVID-19 were returned to their respective countries of origin. 

Uganda's COVID-19 recoveries now stand at 492 with no death.
