COVID-19 Updates: Uganda's Coronavirus Confirmations Rise to 63

KIU, Main Campus –The country's cases of Coronavirus have increased to 63, after two Tanzanian truck drivers tested positive.

As per the Ministry of Health, “Two new case were confirmed today.” The cases include a 43-year-old truck driver and a 35 year-old truck driver as well. 

Both patients who arrived from Mutukula, were allegedly asymptomatic yet tested positive when tests were completed.

Dr. Henry Mwebesa, the Director General Services on Wednesday night, 22nd  April, said that of the 63 cases, 45 tested negative and were discharged whereas the rest are still under treatment.

Apart from these, other truck drivers were added to Uganda's Coronavirus tally according to the new statistics as directed by the World Health Organization. 

Currently, eight truck drivers including one Ugandan, three Tanzanians and four Kenyans have tested positive for COVID-19 in Uganda.
