KIU, Main Campus - Uganda confirmed 28 more COVID-19 cases yesterday, May 27 after registering a record 31 cases on Tuesday, May 26.
"Today, 27 May 2020, 28 new COVID-19 cases confirmed bringing the total confirmed cases to 281. 21 new cases are truck drivers who arrived via Elegu border while 7 new cases are contacts to previously confirmed truck drivers. The contacts were under quarantine at the time of test," tweeted the minister.
"Additionally, 7 positive foreign truck drivers (4 Tanzanians, 1 Eritrean, 1 Congolese and 1 Burundian) were handed over to their country of origin," she added.
1456 samples from border points and 548 samples from the community were tested bringing the total number of tested people yesterday to 2004.
