COVID-19 Updates: Uganda's COVID-19 Cases Surpass 500

KIU, Main Campus – Today, on the morning of June 3, 2020, the Ministry of Health took to its social media platforms to announce 18 new COVID-19 cases in the country. 

"Results from samples tested on 02 June 2020 confirm 18 new COVID-19 cases. The total confirmed cases are now 507. 4 cases are truck drivers who arrived from South Sudan via Elegu, 2 cases are from Malaba,12 cases are alerts and contacts to previously confirmed cases," tweeted the ministry. 

"Of the 12 cases from contacts and alerts; 8 are from Amuru, 3 are from Buikwe and 1 is from Kyotera districts. Additionally, 21 positive foreign truck drivers (13 Kenyans,3 Tanzanians,4 Eritreans and 1 Congolese) were handed to their country of origin," added the ministry. 

Uganda's total recoveries still stand at 82.
