KIU, Western Campus – David Ssempa and Shanice Naggayi won the Mr. and Miss Pharmacy contest respectively, in a colourful ceremony at the 7o7 Safaris on September 1.

The duo beat 5 contestants for Mr. Pharmacy and 4 contestants for Miss. Pharmacy, as the judges, at the end of the day decided that they were the best of the rest.

This was the third edition of the event, whose aim is to get ambassadors of the association who can represent and help in awareness campaigns on matters such as sexual reproductive health among students.

Other objectives are to appreciate the talents within the pharmacy school, to build individual self-confidence and connect with the community as well as to give a vibe of memories of pharmacy school times and most importantly, a break away from the day-to-day hard work that students put in class.

The crowd was entertained by renowned artiste Grenade Official, who put up an impressive performance alongside local artistes from Bushenyi and students from KIU in general and the School of Pharmacy in particular.

The winners of this edition were awarded with a monetary prize worth 400,000, amongst other prizes for the runners up as well.
