Education Minister to Address the Nation Ahead of Reopening of Schools

KIU, Main Campus - The Minister of Education, Janet Kataha Museveni, is set to address the nation tomorrow, Wednesday 15th December, 2021, to announce the dates for the reopening of schools next year.

This was revealed by Hon Dr. Chrysostom Muyingo, the State Minister of Higher Education, in a statement that was delivered on her behalf.

Muyingo said that the inspection exercise has been done to establish the readiness of different schools and institutions and is still going on in some areas.

The statement further indicated that teachers are being trained in different aspects and the Ministry now plans to rehabilitate dilapidated structures in various schools and institutions.

Muyingo tentatively stressed that schools and other learning institutions are scheduled to reopen next year on 10th January, 2022.

Meanwhile President Museveni, in one of his previous addresses to the nation on COVID-19, also announced a full re-opening of the economy including schools and institutions in January 2022.
