KIU, Western Campus – Engineer Caleb Mwesigwa advises his fellow graduands at KIU’s 28th Graduation Ceremony on November 25, 2023 to always ensure that they network and share knowledge.

Mwesigwa, who will be graduating with a Master of Science in Civil engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) says giving unto others knowledge or time is never a selfish act but a double opportunity to better oneself and introduce to the world of how much one knows. 

“While academic qualification is the sole purpose of joining an institution, networking is equally as important as attaining an academic qualification,” Mwesigwa says.

“After school, your grades can save you but your network will lift you a notch higher. And also give yourself unto others and help others along the journey,” he adds.

He says he plans to use the knowledge gained from KIU to enrich his professional career and coordinate with his fellow alumni both countrymates and other nationalities to forge a way for opportunities across the African continent and globally.

Mwesigwa, who plans to upgrade to a PhD in Civil Engineering, says he achieved his targets by joining KIU because he was taught by lecturers from across the world, and mingled with students from across many African countries.

“When I joined KIU, I wanted to get friends from various countries and learn from various lecturers from various countries too,” he explains.

He calls on anyone looking for a quality university education to come to Uganda’s best private university – KIU.

“If one’s ambition is to network and learn at a bigger geographical space, then an international university such as KIU serves it better, Mwesigwa notes.
