KIU, Main Campus - KIU's NBL women's side, KIU Rangers will this Sunday faceoff with KCCA Leopards in a game that is expected to produce serious contestation from both sides as each one looks to finish among the best three on the Ladder.

This will be the last game of the regular season for both teams and neither side can afford to lose especially with the third place, currently occupied by the Rangers, still up for grabs.

KIU Rangers opened this season with victory over the leopards and will look to complete a double this Sunday though it remains to be seen if KCCA Leopards will be willing to concede such a humiliation.

Roger Serunyigo's side will hope for the quick recovery of evergreen Ines Kanyamuza, Racheal Akinyi, and  Sharon Kirabo whom they very much pray to at least make the bench but won't have Fildauce Namuleme who is still recovering from injury. This presents a tricky test to the Rangers tactician who might be forced to depend on the strength of his bench for assurance.

"It’s tricky here but we will manage them on the bench probably with fewer minutes," Serunyigo said. Serunyigo also acknowledged KCCA'S abilities, praising their defence and rebounding which he said have been the best this season.

"KCCA is a very good team in terms of front-court presence. They have dominated rebounding in the ladies' games which is still our challenge but we are trying to rectify" he said.

"KCCA is the most defensive team as they have conceded the fewest points. However, we can also counteract them with our scoring," he noted.

He added that "their guards have also stepped up in the season and are shooting better"

After 17 games, both third-placed KIU Rangers and fourth-placed KCCA Leopards have 30 points from 13 wins and have lost only four times but KIU edges the Kasasiro girls when it comes to points scored. The Rangers have 1132 points put forward while KCCA has 1079.

The overall consensus from the fans and the two coaches is that Sunday's encounter will be a good season closer as the two fight for 3rd position but to the lovers of the beautiful game, another nerve fledgling spectacle awaits.
