KIU, Main Campus - Today marks an important event as first-year students from various colleges and schools exercise their right to vote for their representative in the University's student think tank, the Guild Union. The voting process commenced at 9:00 AM and is scheduled to conclude at 4:30 PM, as announced by the KIU Guild Union Electoral Commission.

The coveted position of Chief Fresher has drawn the participation of six candidates who have dedicated the entire week to vigorous campaigning, each striving to persuade potential voters that they are the most qualified for the role.

The six candidates vying for this prestigious position are Rachel Mitego, Major Aineplani, Edwin Agaba, Juma Kayonga, Dorcas Uwishema, and Denis Semugenze.

It's worth noting that the voting opportunity is extended to all first-year students who joined the university between January and August this year.

The anticipation is palpable, as the counting of votes is slated to commence at 4:30 PM, immediately following the closure of the polls. The victorious candidate will be announced promptly upon the conclusion of the vote-counting process.
