Jesse Charles Gaboyi Scoops KIUPSA Presidency, Promises to Make it Known Globally

KIU, Western Campus – Jesse Charles Gaboyi scooped the KIU Pharmaceutical Students Association presidency on Monday November 20, and immediately promised to make the association known globally.

“I promise to make KIUPSA known globally by coming up with new ideas for the association rather than implementing the old ones,” he told this website after he was declared winner.

Gaboyi, who also promised to make students more involved and closer in all KIUPSA activities, said it has been his long-term goal to lead KIUPSA.

“It has been my long-term ambition to serve Pharmacy students and also having love for KIUPSA as one of the sound and vibrant associations at KIU Western Campus,” he added.

Gaboyi defeated Prudence Mahirwe and Ibrahim Ssekungu by 410 to 256 and 150 votes respectively in the hotly contested election.

He credited his campaign team for the victory and he promised to never let them down.

“The team Jesse campaigning team was vibrant, sound, hard working, courageous and also target oriented. This made us focused through ground mobilization in various classes and making door to door mobilization to various places of residences of students,” he revealed.

Gaboyi will serve in the KIUPSA Executive with Ivan Mulekwa, who was elected Vice-President, Enidy Kabasinguzi who was voted Treasurer, Charles Turyamureeba who is Deputy Treasurer, Ruth Gloria Namulinda as Welfare Minister, Nancy Kyahilirwa as General Secretary and Miria Kyomugisha as Finance Minister.

Others are Martha Kisakye, who is Deputy Finance Minister, Doreen Kemigisha as Education Minister, Henry Birungi as Public Relations Officer and Innocent Opolot, who is the Chief Whip.
