KIU, Main Campus-Jonathan Areeba has been voted president of the KIU Law for the year 2023/2024. The renowned debator beat Pius Kiyemba with a range of 40 votes to ensure that his Victory was not disputed.
Areeba was grateful to his supporters to whom he promised that he will be the best version of a leader they anticipate.
"I thank you all for supporting & believing in me throughout this campaign time. I promise you that I will work to prove you right and to be the best version of a leader I can possibly be," he said.
He also consoled his losing opponent. "To my brother Hon Pius, all I have for you is love and respect and I am certain that greater days are ahead of you. Keep your head high."
His running mate, Pearl Nakimemera also won the vote for vice president after which she was very excited and promised to bring a fun-packed experience to the school of law.
"We have a fun-packed experience for the law society and law fraternity at large including mentoring sessions, motivational and carrier guidance seminars among so many more not forgetting the upcoming law dinner," she said.
"It’s going to be different. And my message to those who entrusted us with power, First of I’d love to say thank you to all those that showed up to vote. I was challenged by how much support they showed us. Secondly, it is to assure them that we are going to serve them beyond self."
