KIU Celebrates August 2022 Batch of the Nigerian TAC Volunteers

In a heartwarming ceremony that some top members of KIU Management attended, the August 2022 Set of the Nigerian Government Technical Aid Corp (TAC) Volunteers were celebrated by the University on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, at the Main Campus.

The Management was represented by Dr. Mundu Mustafa, the Assistant DVC in charge of Research, Innovation, Consultancy and Extension (RICE), Ms. Christine Ainebyoona, the Campus Administrator, Ms Aisha Najjuma, the Director of Human Resources, Dr. Irene Wanjiru, Assoc. Prof. Ibrahim Madugu, the Director Deputy Director of Quality Assurance (QA), Ms. Shakiro Joyce Iluku, Dean of Student Affairs, and Mr. Ojok David Livingstone.

The TAC volunteers were Dr. Hashim Ibrahim Bisallah, Assoc. Prof. Mustapha M. Lawal, and Dr. Dayyabu Shehu.

In his remarks the ADVC RICE, expressed profound gratitude to the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the generous support of African, Caribbean and Pacific Countries through the TAC Volunteers Scheme.

“We appreciate the Government of Nigeria for the TAC members. TAC has assisted tremendously in our postgraduate schools. I want to congratulate you for the past two years you have been with us”, he remarked.

The TAC Coordinator in Uganda, Dr. Hashim Bisallah, who also served as the Director of RICE, thanked the KIU Management for their support over the years.

“We have given our best. We are proud volunteers of the Nigerian government. KIU Management did its best to ensure staff welfare. We will convey your messages to the Nigerian High Commission and the TAC Office in Abuja”

Ms. Iluku, the Dean of Student Affairs, in her remark, thanked the TAC Volunteers for loving KIU. In addition, Dr. Wanjiru, the Deputy Director of QA, thanked them for their good work for KIU, “Be good ambassadors of KIU back in Nigeria”, she added.

In addition to Dr. Bisallah, who served as the Director of RICE, Assoc. Prof. Mustapha M. Lawal functioned as the Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences,
