To sustain the research capabilities of researchers at Kampala International University, the Directorate of Research, Innovations, Consultancy, and Extension (RICE) is inviting the global Academic and Research communities to her Webinar Series titled Research and Innovation in the Post-pandemic Era on September 22nd and 23rd, 2020.
The event is going to feature high-level presentations and discussion bordering on national development, digital research methods, public policy, sustainable development goals, and research during and after COVID-19. Speakers are drawn from Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, and the Netherlands.
The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mouhammed Mpezamihigo is expected to give the opening keynote address while The DVC Academic Affairs, Prof. Tayo Arulogun, DVC Finance, and Administration, Assoc. Prof. Janice Busingye, DVC Western Campus, Prof. Patrick Kyamanywa, and KIU Director of Research, Innovations, and International Relations, Prof. Francisca Oladipo are all expected to give their remarks during the webinar series.
Among the speakers for this important event include the Founder, PLO Lumumba Foundations, Kenya, Prof. Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba, who is slated to talk on Research and Innovations in National Development: Universities as Nexus; while Mariam Basajja, from Leiden University, Netherlands will give a presentation on Digital Research Methods and Electronic Tools as Necessitated by a Pandemic.
Other speakers billed to speak at the event include Prof. Umar Kakumba, DVCcâ¬â??Academic Affairs, Makerere University whose presentation will focus on Research, Innovations and National Policies: Bringing the Gown to the Town and the Vice-Chancellor, Osun State University, Osogbo-Nigeria, Prof. Labode Popoola who is expected to speak on Sustainable Development Goals in Post-pandemic Era: The Roles of Researchers.
The DVC-RICE, KIU, Assoc. Prof. Chukwemeka Diji will cap the webinar series with a presentation on Publishing Research Articles in the Pandemic and Post- pandemic Era.
The event will be moderated by Dr. Wardah Rajab-Gyanjenda, KIU, Director Higher Degrees, and Research, Prof. Tijani Ahmad, KIU Deputy Director RICE (Western Campus), and Dr. Julius Matsiko, KIU Deputy Director RICE (Main Campus).
The webinar is scheduled to start at 11 am East African Time on both days.
