KIU, Main Campus - As part of the strategic goals of Kampala International University to expand her international partnerships and collaborations, On Thursday, November 23rd, 2023, KIU signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University, Turkey. Also present the Islamic University In University (IUIU), as they signed an MoU with Acibadem University.

The MoU signing ceremony was unique as it was graced by the Ugandan Ambassador to Turkey, H.E Ms Nusura Tiperu, and her counterpart, the Turkey Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Mehmet Fatih Ak. The MoU was signed on behalf of KIU by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, while Acibadem was represented by Prof. Ahmet SAHIN. IUIU was represented by the Rector, Prof. Ismail Gyagenda.

The MoU will serve as a platform for academic cooperation in Research, Education, and Training Programmes. The two universities will collaborate in academic programmes especially Medicine, Health Sciences and Pharmacy, Engineering, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Furthermore, the MoU will facilitate the exchange of students and staff, and the joint organization of conferences, symposiums, and seminars.
